Information we collect
If you join the waitlist or contact us, we may collect your email address and any information you choose to provide. The website may also receive basic technical information such as browser type, device type, approximate location, pages visited, referral source, and device information through standard hosting, security, or analytics tooling if enabled.
If we invite people into product testing, Adipity may also collect information needed to operate the scanner experience, such as self-selected shopping values, ingredient or product avoidance settings, barcode scans, product feedback, saved lists, issue reports, source corrections, and app diagnostics.
How we use information
We use information to send product updates, manage waitlist interest, respond to inquiries, improve the website, operate product testing, investigate source corrections, prevent abuse, and support Adipity communications.
In product experiences, information may be used to identify products, resolve brand and parent-company context, show alignment, explain confidence and attribution, make limited information clear, provide AI-assisted summaries or comparisons, study trends over time, and understand user sentiment.
Values and product settings
Adipity is designed to treat selected values, Health & Nutrition settings, and ingredient or product avoidance settings as shopping context. They help shape product explanations; they are not intended to identify, diagnose, or label a person's medical condition, religion, politics, protected status, family status, or personal identity.
We do not sell personal information, user-level values, scan histories, product settings, inferred concerns, or AI interaction history to brands or advertisers. We may use, share, or sell aggregated or de-identified trend insights, such as broad product, category, brand, ingredient, values, or shopping-pattern trends, when those insights are not intended to identify a specific person or household.
AI use
Adipity uses AI to explain, summarize, compare, and translate source-backed facts. AI is a plain-English clarity layer; structured data, sources, confidence, and attribution remain central to the experience.
Adipity may use third-party AI providers to turn structured evidence into plain-English explanations. We aim to minimize personal information sent to AI systems, prefer structured evidence packs over raw personal histories, and choose provider settings or plans designed to limit provider training or product-improvement use when available. Provider rules can vary by service, feature, plan, and configuration, so we will describe material AI data practices as the product evolves.
How information is shared
We may share information when needed to operate Adipity, respond to requests, protect the service, comply with legal obligations, or work with vendors that support the website and product, such as hosting, security, email delivery, analytics if enabled, customer support, and AI processing if used. We do not sell personal information, user-level values, scan histories, product settings, or AI interaction history to brands or advertisers.
Choices and controls
You can unsubscribe from waitlist or product emails using the link in those emails when available, or contact us to request deletion or correction of information you provided. Future app features may use scan and product-interaction data by default to operate Adipity, improve product quality, maintain historical records, and understand trends. We plan to provide opt-out controls for data uses that can reasonably be separated from the core scanner experience.
Security and retention
We use reasonable safeguards for the information we handle. We may retain scan, feedback, issue, product-interaction, and related records to maintain historical product data, measure trends over time, understand sentiment, improve data quality, and meet security, legal, operational, or recordkeeping needs. We may delete, aggregate, or de-identify information when it is no longer useful for those purposes.
Changes
We may update this policy as the website and product evolve. If we make material changes to how we handle personal information, we will update this page and, when appropriate, provide additional notice.
